At Feversham College our curriculum is designed to promote the spiritual, intellectual, personal, social and physical development of all students. It includes formal lessons and a wide range of extra curricular activities within an Islamic Ethos.
We have high expectations for all our students and are committed to supporting them to become confident, independent learners equipped with the skills needed in the work place.
In the organisation and planning of the curriculum we aim to meet the needs of all our students so they achieve the best they can. To maximise achievement we will:
- Emphasise the duty of a Muslim to seek and gain knowledge
- Ensure high quality teaching & learning.
- Emphasise the key skills of communication, numeracy and information technology;
- Use information technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Extend learning into the community and the world of business and employment;
- Monitor student performance and set targets for improvement;
- Encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning, to identify strengths and weaknesses, and improve performance to meet individual targets.
- Support students through mentoring, additional study and homework;
Our current curriculum will be delivered through a weekly timetable of thirty periods of 50 minutes duration. Students will be taught in a variety of groupings.
At Key Stage 3 students will be taught National Curriculum programmes of study in the following subjects:-
- English
- Maths
- Science
- Design Technology
- Art
- ICT
- Modern Languages (Arabic & Urdu)
- *Music
- History
- Geography
- Creative Subject
- Citizenship
- Physical Education
* Music is taught within an Islamic framework
All students follow a Religious Studies programme that includes Tajweed (Qu’ranic recitation), Islam and other faiths.
At Key Stage 4 all students follow courses in:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science (2 GCSE’s)
- Religious Studies
- PHSCEE
- P.E.
In addition we have devised a variety of pathways to suit the needs and interests of students who have different skills and aptitudes.
Some students will follow a vocational pathway. They can choose from:-
- Health & Social Care
- ICT
- Early Years (CACHE)
Students who have a particular aptitude and interest in Science may follow a course in each of the 3 Sciences:-
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Physics

In addition there is a variety of enrichment activities to choose from including P.E., Art and Crafts, Healthy Lifestyles, Sports Leaders and Arabic Studies. Students personal and study skills are developed through a tutorial programme.
Tutor Groups
Every student is placed in a tutor group containing girls of different levels of ability and aptitudes. Effort is made to place each child sympathetically so that all girls feel compatible from the start.
Girls will meet regularly with their form tutor with whom they build a good relationship.
