| All students
at Feversham College study Physical Education, there are no examinations
in the P.E. courses. Students have the opportunity to participate
in a wide range of activities including: netball, hockey, badminton,
volleyball, rounders, cricket, tennis, football, rugby, table-tennis,
athletics, fitness, orienteering and gymnastics.
The emphasis is placed on the performance aspect of activities,
students are encouraged to develop consistency in their performance
and increase knowledge of rules and tactics. Students are also
expected to undertake different roles such as observer, performer,
coach and official and show an understanding of the principle
involved in exercising for health.
At KS4 students have the opportunity to follow the Junior Sports
Leadership Award course, and on successful completion gain a
nationally recognised qualification in leadership skills.
Extra-curricular opportunities are provided both at lunch-time
and after school. KS3 and KS4 badminton championships are held
every year. All students have the opportunity to play extra games
in non-selective lunch-time clubs and Feversham College participates
in the Bradford rounders and netball Leagues, in addition friendly
matches take place with local and other faith schools. We take
part in football and netball tournaments. Basketball coaching
is also available to students after school.
