Rt Hon Ruth Kelly former Secretary of State for Education and Skills joins Feversham Education Trust as Patron
Former Secretary of State for Education Ruth Kelly has joined Feversham Education Trust (FET) as Patron. Ruth Kelly served as Member of Parliament for Bolton West from 1997 until she stood down in 2010. During this period, she also served as Secretary of State for Transport, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government and Minister for Women and Equality. She served under both Gordon Brown and Tony Blair. Currently Ruth Kelly is Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise at St Mary’s University.
Ruth Kelly stated:
“I am delighted to have accepted Feversham Education Trusts’ offer to become its Patron. The Trusts aim to work on areas of social and economic deprivation and improve the life chances and social mobility of young people is very dear to me.”
Feversham Education Trust was established in 2016, it currently operates Feversham College and Feversham First Steps Nursery, both rated outstanding by Ofsted; a new Girls’ Academy which has been approved for opening in September 2019 and Queensbury School, which the Trust is helping to transform.
